Please read the following statement released by SCHL on returning to the ice for 2020-2021.
The South Coast Hockey League and our member programs are proud to announce that our inaugural season will proceed as scheduled.
On August 6th, USA Hockey announced they will sanction hockey for the 2020-2021 season. Medical experts, in conjunction with USA Hockey, have confirmed that with taking appropriate precautions, it is safe to play hockey.
As we work our way through the COVID-19 pandemic together, the SCHL is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators.
It will not be easy and cooperation from everyone involved will be imperative to the success of our season. In addition to state and local COVID-19 regulations, SCHL will publish our own set of regulations that all teams, officials, and spectators must adhere to.
Our plan is to start the season with organized practices and unofficial scrimmages. When health regulations allow, we will graduate to official full-ice 5-on-5 games.
Please monitor the SCHL website, as we will be posting and continuously updating our COVID-19 relegations and season timeline.
Stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone around the rink.
