Martha's Vineyard Travel Update - Saturday, October 11, 2014

Parking

Current/real-time parking lot information is readily available as you approach the parking terminals by: 

  • Calling Woods Hole Parking Information Line at (508) 457-PARK (7275)
  • $13 per day

Ferry

8:15 AM - Depart Wood's Hole, Arrive 9:00 AM at Vineyard Haven
3:45 PM - Depart Oak Bluffs, Arrive at 4:30 PM at Wood's Hole

The Steamship Authority (SSA) recommends that passengers arrive at least 35 minutes prior to scheduled departure time to allow time for parking in the off-site parking lots and shuttle service to Woods Hole terminal.

This money should be paid by Sunday, September 28. Please make checks payable to: Cara Cormier for the # of tickets you need based on the price list above. 

MVYH does NOT cover ferry costs for players/coaches. MVYH only covers bus transportation from the ferry to the arena for players/coaches. Parents/siblings & other spectators need to get their own transportation.

The bus from the arena to the ferry will be ready to take us to Oak Bluffs at 2:15 PM, so please pack up quickly as they have a tight schedule.

Public Transportation:

Spectators may use Vineyard Transit to the arena & back to the ferry. You can ride the bus all day for $7.00.

Pizza Delivery:

If you want something different than what the arena offers, Porto Pizza will deliver. They are open every day: 11 am – 9 pm. Delivery charge is a flat fee of $5 for as many pizzas as you’d like! Oak Bluffs

Does it matter if I arrive or depart in Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs?

If traveling with the team, it will not matter whether you arrive or depart to/from Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. The MV Arena is slightly closer to the port of Vineyard Haven, however, if returning to Woods Hole, you can depart from either port depending on the boat schedule.

How far is the MV Arena from Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs?

Vineyard Haven to MV Arena = 3 miles 
Oak Bluffs to MV Arena = 5 miles

How long is the boat ride from Woods Hole to Martha’s Vineyard?

45 minutes

Does the MV Arena offer a Proshop and place to eat?

The Proshop offers a modest selection of items and is open from 9AM to 5PM. There are coin operated vending machines for items such as soda, water, snacks. We suggest bringing food for your athlete as there are no restaurants or stores within walking distance of the rink.
